NASA’s ‘Your Name In Landsat‘ is neat; it attempts to spell your name – or any other word you provide – in land features from satellite imagery as recorded by the Landsat satellite network.
It also has a nice little function where it’ll provide you with a clean-cropped image that you can easily download.

In Malton yesterday I happened to stumble across this rather fabulous Easter-themed yarn-bombed post box just outside of Malton Post Office. Anyway, here are some photographs of it before the April showers soak it through and wreck the yarn.

A set of images from the 19th August, 2023 Malton stop of Deltic 55009 – renamed and renumbered for this trip as 55013 ‘The Black Watch’ – as part of the Kings Cross to Scarborough Coronation Railtour. Apparently it broke down it’s the way home and the tour ended up getting in very late.
