Donna Nook Seals (Autumn 2018)

My second visit to the seal colony at the Donna Nook Nature Reserve in Lincolnshire. Unlike my first trip, I managed to visit during late November – right at the peak of the seal pup season. Cold and overcast, it was – in spite of arriving before 9am – far busier than my previous lunchtime trip, often with crowds building up at various points along the fence.

The beach was also far more crowded and with a wider selection of seal pups to see – from tiny hour or day old newborns (still confused by the idea of merely existing) to bigger pups on the cusp of leaving the beach and heading out into the North Sea.
