A few notes on Pulp’s ‘More’

So, on the 6th of June – and after two pre-release singles and a mountain of media hype – the new Pulp album ‘More’ dropped.

It’s interesting to note that while Different Class had an average track length of around four and third minutes, More has only slipped slightly to an average length of about four and a half minutes. Other groups should probably take note.

Got to Have Love / Pulp (2025)

Another new Pulp track.

It’s a nice listen – and possibly better than the first one they released from this run. It makes me think that the new album will be a good listen.

Spike Island / Pulp (2025)

The new Pulp single, released as part of the campaign running up to the new LP. I quite like it and, although it’s unlikely to best Different Class, I’m cautiously optimistic for the rest of the album.

And today with have two Pulp documentaries.

No Sleep Till Sheffield: Pulp Go Public (1995)

Short and not particularly deep but a lovely throwback to the mid-90s. Also old enough that it still has (for whatever reason!) a random spot of Gary Glitter.

The Story Of… Pulp’s Common People (2006)

Longer and somewhat more in-depth, though with a tendency to wander off – the pub analysis was un-needed – and stray from from the narrative under construction. No obvious disgraced celebrities feature in this one but there was a small callout out to Rolf Harris and his stylophone.
